Like most families, Snehal and Subhayu wanted something offbeat but the parents wanted to keep family sentiments and traditional designs in mind as well. They wanted to bring out their two states predominantly.
We definitely wanted to steer away from the obvious 2 states theme.
This is a theme reminiscent of a classic story book which is close to all our hearts, Amar Chitra katha, aptly rechristened to Amar Prem Katha, inspired from Snehal and Subhayu’s 7 year long glorious relationship.
This folktale is not just about a marriage of 2 individuals, but of the traditional union of 2 rich and artistic cultures. The chapters in this book chronicle the time periods, the origin and significance of each of these rituals. As any happy story goes the concluding paragraph in each of these chapters is the bright promise of a fun filled celebration in the form of ceremony details.
A lot of emphasis has been placed on the tiniest details to highlight to convey the essence of this beautiful Bengali Maharashtrian Marrige.
All illustrations have been hand drawn from scratch.
